Itinerary

Day 1

Buenos Aires

Arrival, reception and transfer.

After the check in, we begin to  introduce ourselves to the world of tango. While touring the neighbourhoods that gave rise to the tango, we go into detail about some aspects that help us understand why tango was declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage by NESCO. We start in La Boca, the port of the city where the immigrants came to the city, to know the history of the conventillos, piringundines (meeting places) and the lunfardo (slang associated to tango). We  continue through San Telmo to see the corner of El Viejo Almacén, considered the temple of the tango and finish in El Federal, remarkable bar where we have a light lunch. In the evening, we attend a dinner show at El Querandí.

Meals: Lunch, Dinner

Day 2 to 3

Buenos Aires

If we talk about Tango, we had better know about the history of Carlos Gardel, the greatest tango singer of all time. The tour covers two important neighborhoods: San Nicolas, passing by some places where he was raised, Café Tortoni and Café los Angelitos, both notable bars that he frequented. Moreover, we visit Abasto, area that gave him the nickname of “Morocho del Abasto” (Brunette from Abasto). Through a walking tour, we visit the house where he lived, today turned into a museum, Zelaya Passage with murals dedicated to the singer, Paseo Gardel with his monument and the corner “Chanta Cuatro” where nowadays we find a “tanguería” (where tango shows take place). On the way back, we have lunch at a traditional restaurant related to the history of Gardel.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
